The Yeezy story
A single injection-molded piece of high-density EVA foam is the entire construction — no strap stitched on separately, no glued footbed. The contoured heel cup keeps the foot seated in the shell during a stride rather than letting it slide forward the way flatter slides do, and the shoe only ships in whole sizes as a result of that one-piece mold.
Yeezy launched in 2015 as a design partnership pairing Kanye West's eye for sculptural silhouettes with knit and foam manufacturing techniques built for scale. Its muted, tonal palettes and primeknit uppers broke from sneaker culture's usual loud colorways and reshaped what resale-driven hype could look like. The line's low-top runners and slip-on foam forms became some of the most imitated shapes of the last decade.
