The adidas story
The Indoor is the court-bred cousin of the 1966 Gazelle, cut lower and slimmer than the standard version and finished with a flat gum outsole made for wooden floors rather than pavement. The suede upper keeps the T-toe overlay and serrated 3-Stripes the line has carried since its first run, but the last is narrower and the profile sits closer to the ground — it runs small, and the sizing is period-accurate rather than modern.
adidas traces its roots to a small German workshop where Adi Dassler hand-stitched cleats in the 1920s, formally incorporating the company in 1949. The three-stripe mark that followed became one of the most recognized emblems in sport, stretched across football boots, track spikes, and the Superstar's shell toe. Decades later the brand's Boost and Primeknit platforms redefined what an everyday trainer could feel like underfoot.
